Storm ID is thrilled to announce our successful bid to redesign and redevelop the main website for the National Library of Scotland. This landmark project will transform how users engage with Scotland's rich cultural heritage and the Library’s vast online resources.

A vision for the future

Launching in the Library's centenary year in 2025, the new website will provide an intuitive and accessible digital platform for both existing and new audiences. By focusing on user experience, streamlined navigation and engaging content presentation, the website will become an essential part of Scotland's educational and cultural landscape.

"We are honoured to have been selected for this prestigious project. The National Library of Scotland is a treasure trove of knowledge and history, and we are committed to creating a new digital experience that reflects its significance and empowers users to explore everything it has to offer."

The project aligns with the Scottish Government's digital ambitions, aiming to provide modern, accessible and effective online services that meet the evolving needs of users.

Accessibility and user-testing at the forefront

The new website will prioritise accessible design and incorporate user-testing throughout the creative process, ensuring that every visitor can easily discover and interact with the Library and their extensive online resources.

A collaborative approach

We will work closely with the Library Digital Engagement Team, using an iterative and agile approach to scope, design, develop and test the website over a two-year period. The project will encompass the implementation of a new Content Management System (CMS), a redesigned front-end incorporating the Library's brand, and a focus on clear user journeys and meeting a range of user needs.

"We look forward to collaborating with Storm ID on this project. We are confident that their expertise and innovative approach will help us create a user-centred and engaging website for everyone, which showcases the breadth and depth of our collections, public programme, and our services."
