Storm ID is delighted to announce the renewal of its partnership with the Department for Energy Security and Net Zero (DESNZ), continuing a successful relationship that has already spanned over four years.

The new agreement will see Storm ID continue providing Microsoft 365 development, data engineering and managed support services.

The renewal reflects the strength of the relationship established between the two organisations and the quality; responsiveness and technical expertise Storm ID has brought to the partnership.

Supporting critical services across Microsoft 365

Storm ID's relationship with DESNZ began in 2022 with a two-year digital development partnership, building a suite of solutions using Microsoft 365, Power Platform and Microsoft Azure technologies. Since 2024, Storm ID has acted as DESNZ's managed support partner for these solutions, a partnership which has now been extended for a further two years.

This includes the Business Case Assurance Tool (BCAT), a custom Power Apps and Dataverse solution that supports the management of business case workflows and project approval processes. BCAT provides DESNZ with important management information across the project lifecycle, including assurance status, senior responsible owner details, whole-life costs and business case stages.

Storm ID also supports:

  • ORB, an internal reporting tool used for monthly reporting across DESNZ activities

  • Management Insights dashboards, which bring together information from multiple sources to support stakeholder decision-making

  • DESNZ’s data platform, which provides a common home for data used across its tools and services

Working closely with DESNZ has given Storm ID's team a detailed understanding of the department's technology estate, users and operational requirements. This knowledge enables the team to respond quickly to support needs while identifying opportunities to improve performance, data quality and the user experience.

The renewed agreement will build on that foundation. Storm ID will continue to provide managed support while designing, developing and deploying enhancements to DESNZ's low-code applications and related Microsoft 365 services.

Demonstrating Storm ID's Microsoft capability

The contract renewal reinforces Storm ID's credentials as a trusted Microsoft technology partner for complex public-sector environments.

Storm ID combines specialist capability across Microsoft 365, Power Apps, Power Automate, Dataverse, Azure and data and reporting technologies. Its multidisciplinary teams support clients throughout the service lifecycle, from understanding business and user needs through to solution design, development, testing, deployment and ongoing optimisation.

For DESNZ, this includes proactive monitoring, incident management, performance optimisation and structured change and release management. Storm ID will also continue to help the department explore service improvements, developments within Power Platform and opportunities created by emerging Azure features.&

This combination of technical expertise and managed service capability allows Storm ID to do more than maintain existing technology. It helps improve and extend digital services as their operational, governance and reporting needs evolve.

The renewed partnership also demonstrates the value of continuity. Retaining knowledge of architecture, data models and user community reduces the time needed to understand each new requirement and supports informed, lower-risk delivery.

We’re proud to continue our partnership with DESNZ. This renewal is a testament to the expertise and commitment of our team, as well as the strong, collaborative relationship we have built with DESNZ over the past four years. We’re excited to build on that foundation, helping the department get even greater value from Microsoft 365, Power Platform and Azure as its services and requirements continue to evolve.

Delivering through G-Cloud

The contract has been procured through the Government Commercial Agency G-Cloud framework.

Storm ID is proud to be a Government Commercial Agency supplier. The G-Cloud framework gives public-sector organisations access to approved cloud technology and support providers through a clear and established procurement route.

For Storm ID, inclusion on the framework reflects its ability to provide reliable, high-quality cloud services to public-sector organisations. It also supports Storm ID’s wider commitment to helping government departments and public bodies use Microsoft technology to create effective, accessible and sustainable digital services.

The renewed DESNZ partnership is a significant endorsement of the work delivered over the past two years. More importantly, it creates an opportunity for both organisations to continue building on that progress, strengthening essential services, improving the use of data and ensuring DESNZ’s Microsoft 365 estate continues to meet changing organisational needs.
