We’re delighted to announce that Storm ID has been awarded a new contract with the Scottish Public Pensions Agency (SPPA) to provide expert guidance, migration support and ongoing management of their Azure Cloud environment.

The SPPA is an executive agency of the Scottish Government, responsible for administering and paying pensions to Scotland’s teachers, National Health Service staff, police and firefighters. With over half a million members across multiple schemes, SPPA plays a vital role in delivering secure, reliable and efficient pension services for public sector employees and retirees throughout Scotland.

Supporting SPPA’s journey to the Scottish Government Azure Cloud

The project will see Storm ID working closely with SPPA’s internal teams to migrate applications and services into the Scottish Government Azure Cloud environment.

Our approach will combine structured guidance with collaborative delivery:

  • Planning & Readiness - working alongside SPPA to assess existing environments, identify risks and ensure alignment with Scottish Government security, identity and networking standards.
  • Migration Support - providing hands-on expertise during key stages of the migration, from secure network configuration to validation and testing, ensuring a smooth cutover with minimal disruption.
  • Governance & Service Management - once migrated, Storm ID’s Service Desk will provide incident, patch and vulnerability management, proactive monitoring and cost optimisation to ensure the platform remains secure, reliable and efficient.

This model ensures SPPA retains ownership of its cloud environment while benefiting from Storm ID’s experience in delivering compliant, cost-optimised Azure solutions.

Delivering value through innovation and best practice

SPPA will benefit not only from a successful migration but also from Storm ID’s expertise in:

  • Defence-in-depth security architectures to protect sensitive systems and data.
  • Infrastructure as Code and DevOps practices to ensure environments are consistent, well-documented and reproducible.
  • Knowledge transfer and training to equip SPPA’s teams with the skills to manage and evolve their Azure environment long after migration.
We’re proud to support the Scottish Public Pensions Agency in delivering secure, reliable digital services that make a real difference to the many thousands of people who rely on them every day.
