The Local Heritage Hub is a transformative platform designed to help people uncover and celebrate the rich heritage of historic places in communities across the whole of England. By providing digital tools and resources, the Hub enables local communities, researchers, and heritage enthusiasts to tell the stories of their places in creative and accessible ways.

Harnessing AI to streamline heritage content
As part of the Local Heritage Hub project, we developed a suite of AI-powered tools to support Historic England’s internal content and data management. Built on Microsoft Azure and Azure OpenAI, these tools automate tasks such as text summarisation, image classification, geolocation tagging and advanced text tagging and classification, making it easier to manage collections.
Working with Storm ID has enabled us to deliver something truly transformative. We’re delighted to see this recognition at the Digital Impact Awards.
