Our Commitment

At Storm ID, we're committed to creating an environment where people can develop their skills, take on meaningful challenges and build careers they're proud of. Whether joining as graduates or apprentices, everyone gets the support, mentorship and opportunities they need to thrive.

A couple of our new starters even got their first taste of Storm culture at our Summer Day Out at the beach near Dunbar a few weeks back, meeting the wider team and experiencing firsthand what makes Storm special.

Meet Asha

Asha Mullen, Graduate AI Consultant

Asha has hit the ground running since day one. She's been instrumental in shaping our AI development and go-to-market proposition, conducting in-depth research on AI adoption across the UK public sector, and supporting the Futurescot AI Challenge by helping review submissions. We're already seeing the impact of her contributions.

What do you like most about Storm ID so far?

"The collaborative atmosphere has been incredible. Everyone is genuinely invested in helping each other succeed, and I've felt welcomed and supported from day one. The variety of projects and the opportunity to work on meaningful projects makes every day interesting."

What excites you most about working in AI and the public sector?

"AI has such transformative potential for public services and being able to contribute to projects that genuinely improve people's lives is incredibly motivating. I'm excited to help organisations navigate this technology thoughtfully and effectively."

What do you hope to achieve in these early stages of your career?

"I want to deepen my technical expertise in AI while developing a strong understanding of how public sector organisations work. Building relationships with clients and contributing to projects that make a real difference would be the ultimate goal."

Meet Amber

Amber Degner-Budd, Graduate Test Engineer

Amber joins our team as a Graduate Test Engineer, eager to expand her experience and deepen her understanding of quality assurance and testing practices. We're excited to see how she'll help us continue delivering reliable, high-quality solutions for our clients.

What drew you to a role in test engineering?

"I've always been detail-oriented and enjoyed problem-solving. Test engineering combines those strengths with the satisfaction of ensuring software works properly for end users. There's something really fulfilling about being involved in assuring quality."

What areas of testing are you most excited to learn about?

"I'm particularly interested in automation testing and learning how to build efficient testing frameworks. I also want to understand how testing fits into the broader development lifecycle and how we can shift quality left in the process."

How do you hope to grow your expertise at Storm ID?

"I want to become increasingly confident across different types of testing, for a variety of project types, and contribute to establishing best practices within the team. Learning from experienced colleagues and working on diverse projects will be key to that growth."

Meet Alexandria

Alexandria Nevobasi, PMO Apprentice

We're absolutely delighted to welcome Alexandria back following her summer internship with us. During that time, she spent time with different teams across Storm and got a feel for life here. After seeing what our Project Managers got up to, she decided to return and pursue her Digital Applications apprenticeship with us. We're thrilled she chose Storm to support her on this important step in her career.

What did you enjoy most during your internship?

"Getting exposure to so many different aspects of the business was fantastic. I loved seeing how all the teams collaborate to deliver projects, and everyone took the time to explain their roles and answer my questions. It really gave me insight into where I wanted to focus my career."

What made you decide to come back to Storm?

"The people and the culture, without a doubt. Everyone was so welcoming and supportive, and I could see clear pathways for development. Watching the Project Managers in action showed me a career path I hadn't fully considered before, and I knew this was where I wanted to be."

What skills are you most excited to develop during your apprenticeship?

"I'm keen to develop strong project management fundamentals, like understanding how to plan, coordinate and deliver projects successfully. I also want to build my communication and stakeholder management skills so I can effectively support teams and clients."

Meet Aman

Aman Satheesh, Graduate AI Engineer

Aman joins us as a Graduate AI Engineer, bringing a natural curiosity for emerging technologies and a strong foundation in machine learning. With an interest in turning complex ideas into practical solutions, he’s eager to contribute to real-world AI projects. We’re excited to see how his fresh perspective and engineering mindset will help shape our growing AI capability at Storm.

What attracted you to pursue a role in AI engineering at Storm ID?

"Storm stood out to me because it’s not just building AI for the sake of it. It’s applying AI to solve real-world problems with impact. I loved the blend of technical challenge and purpose. From my very first conversations with the team, it was clear that Storm is a place where I’d be trusted to contribute early on while still getting the support and mentorship I need. That combination of autonomy and collaboration really appealed to me."

What areas of AI or machine learning are you most excited to work on?

"I’m particularly interested in natural language processing and how models can be adapted to understand complex domain-specific problems. I’m also fascinated by responsible AI, especially the challenge of building systems that are accurate, fair and explainable. Getting to work across both experimentation and deployment is exciting, because I want to understand not just how to build models, but how to make them truly usable in production."

What skills or achievements are you hoping to develop early in your career here?

"In the short term, I want to deepen my engineering fundamentals, from scalable model development to MLOps practices. I’d love to reach a point where I can take an AI feature from prototype all the way through to delivery. Longer term, I want to become someone others can rely on for both technical problem-solving and collaboration. Making a real contribution to a live project that improves how people interact with digital services would be a huge milestone for me."

Aman Satheesh - Graduate AI Engineer
I’m excited to work on AI that has real-world impact, not just experiments, but solutions people actually use.

What's Next

We’re genuinely excited to have Asha, Amber, Alexandria and Aman as part of the Storm ID family. All four of our latest team members happen to have names beginning with the letter A. To be clear, this is not the start of an alphabet-based hiring strategy, but we’re confident they’re all A-grade additions to the team regardless. Watching them learn and contribute to the important work we do is going to be one of the highlights of the year ahead. Welcome!
