Continuing our digital partnership with Scottish Housing Regulator
The Scottish Housing Regulator (SHR) and Storm ID have renewed the contract for ongoing hosting and support of SHR’s established Umbraco website, hosted on Azure. Serving key stakeholders, including tenants and social landlords, the platform plays a vital role in delivering essential services. In this blog, we detail how our continued partnership ensures seamless service, enhanced functionality and long-term digital stability.

SHR has renewed its contract with Storm ID for the ongoing hosting and support of its established website, Scottish Housing Regulator. SHR is the independent regulator of Registered Social Landlord and local authority housing services in Scotland, established in April 2011 under the Housing (Scotland) Act 2010.
They safeguard and promote the interests of:
- around 600,000 tenants who live in homes provided by social landlords
- over 120,000 owners who received services from social landlords
- around 40,000 people and their families who experience homelessness and seek help from local authorities
- around 335 Traveller families who can use official sites provided by social landlords
Originally designed and developed by Storm ID in 2019, the website serves key stakeholders, including tenants and social landlords. This partnership renewal ensures continued service stability, security and functionality for years to come. At Storm ID, we know how important it is for public-facing websites to be secure, accessible and reliable. That’s why we’re proud to continue working with SHR to keep their platform running smoothly.
The website is built in Umbraco, making it easy to manage content with their user-friendly CMS, while its open-source nature allows for full customization to meet unique business needs, for example of this is SHR’s custom built Landlord Directory, which allows users to find and compare registered landlords. Paired with being hosted in Microsoft Azure’s secure, cloud-based hosting, the platform benefits from reliability and scalability—ensuring a stable and future-proof digital presence.
“We designed and developed the SHR website in 2019 and we have been providing support services since launch. This new contract allows us to continue providing services for a further three years.”
As a key digital hub, the SHR website provides crucial information on social landlord performance, regulatory guidance and key publications. Our continued support includes:
- maintaining a robust and reliable cloud-based hosting solution on Microsoft Azure
- ensuring the website meets and maintains WCAG 2.2 AA standards for an inclusive user experience
- delivering comprehensive Google Analytics tracking and custom dashboards for the Landlord Directory and Comparison Tool to enhance data insights
- keeping the website running smoothly with our dedicated support desk
“Having a reliable and responsive support service is crucial for our website. Storm ID’s expertise and proactive approach give us confidence that our site will remain accessible, secure, and effective for our stakeholders.”
