Storm ID appoints Linsey Lydon as Managing Director
Award-winning digital, data and AI consultancy Storm ID today announced the appointment of Linsey Lydon as its Managing Director. The move comes as the consultancy embarks on an ambitious three-year growth plan. Key elements of this strategy involve introducing Storm ID’s expertise into new markets across the rest of the UK, diversifying its revenue mix and significantly growing its AI-related revenues.

Linsey’s appointment marks a significant step in Storm ID’s journey, as the consultancy looks ahead to its 25th anniversary in 2026. Founded in 2001, Storm ID has grown organically to become one of Scotland's leading, and enduring, digital success stories.
The consultancy has established itself as a trusted delivery partner for digital transformation, data and AI solutions, serving a diverse portfolio of clients across Scotland and the rest of the UK, including with numerous Scottish and UK Government departments and public sector bodies. The consultancy currently employs around 100 staff and is now strategically focused on expanding its reach and impact across the UK.
Linsey brings a wealth of experience to the role, having been an integral part of Storm ID for the past 12 years, most recently serving as Client Services Director. Her deep understanding of the business, its clients, and the evolving digital landscape will be crucial in driving growth.
Two of the original co-founders will continue to serve; Paul McGinness as Executive Chair, and Craig Turpie as Executive Secretary, providing ongoing strategic guidance and support with new business development, developing IP and revenues around AI and marketing, demonstrating their enduring commitment to the business they helped establish. The board also includes long-standing members of the senior leadership; James Lynch, Jason Kennedy, Tim Threlfall, Stewart Cruickshank and Mike Cashin, all of whom have dedicated more than a decade of service each.
Storm ID’s three-year strategy will see an intensified focus on delivering impactful digital, data and AI consulting services. This will involve a targeted drive to introduce Storm ID’s expertise to new markets across the rest of the UK. The consultancy aims to significantly grow its revenues derived from AI-related projects.
