Storm ID appointed as digital partner to National Records of Scotland
Storm ID is proud to have been selected as the digital partner to the National Records of Scotland. As the successful supplier, we’ll be delivering user-centred digital design, data innovation and technical services through a collaborative partnership. We are excited to share insights into this significant public sector initiative.
A new chapter with NRS
Following a competitive procurement process, we are delighted to have been appointed by National Records of Scotland (NRS) to provide Digital, Data and Technology (DDaT) services for the next six years.
Our work will directly support the delivery of NRS’ strategic ambitions, contributing to programmes including future population statistics, digital archiving, infrastructure modernisation and internal service transformation.
NRS, as Scotland’s national record keeper and official source of demographic statistics, holds a vital role in preserving national documents and informing key policy decisions. Their extensive responsibilities include administering Scotland’s Census and managing an archive spanning over 800 years of Scottish life.

Collaborative delivery and key service areas
We’ll provide expertise across digital and data design, the development of innovative applications and services, technical architecture and assurance and a full suite of testing capabilities. This includes:
- Digital and data services – scoping and delivering service and data transformation programmes, from early discovery to delivery
- Innovation and application services – designing and implementing integrated, sustainable digital solutions, including cloud, automation and AI
- Technical and solution outcomes – supporting technical architecture, cloud infrastructure and cyber security alongside NRS’ internal IT teams and suppliers
- Testing services – delivering user-centred testing outcomes, including accessibility, performance and security testing across digital programmes.
We’ll be working closely with NRS to provide flexible, outcome-focussed support across a diverse and evolving portfolio.
