Storm ID is an Edinburgh-based digital transformation consultancy that helps organisations accelerate their use of digital, data and AI. We believe in tailored solutions, assembling expert teams to address each client's unique needs. Our services span strategy, design, technology and data & AI, ensuring seamless end-to-end delivery of platforms, products and services with real-world impact.
What sets us apart is our commitment to long-lasting, data-driven, user-centered change. We enjoy close collaboration between our teams, ensuring projects move smoothly from discovery to design to delivery. We recognise the crucial link between digital and data, creating intelligent services that leverage both.
We work with a range of clients across the Scottish and UK public and private sectors.
Role Overview
Storm ID is supporting a public body as it transitions from SAS to a modern, open-source analytical platform, in line with Scottish Government strategy and the need for secure, reproducible and scalable statistical processing. Following a detailed technical options appraisal, the project is progressing with an Alpha phase with Posit as the preferred foundation for future analytical services, while accounting for the sensitivity, scale and governance requirements of client data.
This role sits within a multiphase project and will lead the shaping of a solution by working across technical, analytical and assurance stakeholders to define a priority use case, test key assumptions and design the architecture needed to support informed decision making and progression into subsequent delivery phases.
This initial Alpha phase involves the solution design and implementation of a candidate use case. The architect must understand how to translate the requirements for performance, scalability, and security into a cohesive Azure and Posit technology stack. This initial Alpha phase is expected to run for approximately 6 months but we expect a larger Beta phase will follow with options to extend.
