We believe in tailored solutions, assembling expert teams to address each client's unique needs. Our services span strategy, design, technology and data & AI, ensuring seamless end-to-end delivery of platforms, products and services with real-world impact.
What sets us apart is our commitment to long-lasting, data-driven, user-centred change. We enjoy close collaboration between our teams, ensuring projects move smoothly from discovery to design to delivery. We recognise the crucial link between digital and data, creating intelligent services that leverage both.
We work with a range of clients across the Scottish and UK public and private sectors.
We're looking for a Senior Project Manager to take a leading role with our Project Management Office.
This is a hands-on delivery role, with real influence, delivering complex digital projects and shaping how delivery happens at Storm ID.
You will lead multiple concurrent projects from discover through to delivery, working closely with clients, delivery teams and senior stakeholders.
You'll be trusted to take ownership of the scope, budget, governance and delivery momentum, while building long-term client relationships and mentoring junior colleagues.
You'll join a collaborative team with storm learning support, where innovation and creativity are central to delivering meaningful outcomes for our clients.
We take pride in being individuals that clients genuinely enjoy collaborating with.
The role promises diversity, ensuring each day presents new challenges and opportunities.
About you
We know that great Senior Project Managers will come from a variety of backgrounds, and we encourage and value people who bring unique perspectives and knowledge to our team. You need to be comfortable owning delivery in complex digital environments and have experience in managing digital projects and leading multi-disciplinary teams to deliver exceptional results for clients. You will bring a collaborative leadership style that enables teams to do their best work.
You’ll also bring:
• Strong experience delivering multiple digital projects concurrently, across varying levels of complexity
• Confidence leading multidisciplinary teams, including designers, engineers, researchers and client stakeholders
• A solid understanding of delivery approaches (waterfall, agile and hybrid) and when to apply them
• Proven experience managing budgets, forecasts and change control
• The ability to build credibility and trust with clients at all levels, including handling challenge constructively
• Excellent communication skills that are clear, calm and confident, even under pressure
• A pragmatic, solutions-focused mindset with strong risk and issue management skills
• Experience mentoring or supporting other Project Managers
You’ll also be someone who is:
• Passionate about digital transformation and meaningful outcomes
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced consultancy environment
• Adaptable, empathetic and confident working with multi-disciplinary teams
• Organised, detail-oriented and able to balance multiple priorities
One more thing – research indicates that marginalised groups of people may not apply for jobs unless they meet 100% of the qualifications. We also know that many professionals come from various backgrounds. We value people who bring unique perspectives and new knowledge to our team. If you believe you're qualified, but don't "check all the boxes", please submit an application.
What you'll do
As a Senior Project Manager, reporting to the Head of PMO, you'll be instrumental in leading the end-to-end delivery of complex digital projects, ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget and to a high standard. Here are some examples to give you a flavour of what you'll do:
• Own project initiation, defining delivery approaches, governance models, plans, milestones and success metrics
• Collaborate closely with clients to understand their needs, define project requirements, and provide regular updates on project progress, ensuring transparency and alignment
• Act as a senior point of contact for clients, building trusted relationships and ensuring clear, confident communication throughout delivery
• Manage project budgets, forecasts and change control, maintaining commercial integrity and proactively escalating risks where required
• Drive delivery momentum by proactively identifying, managing and mitigating risks, dependencies and issues across multidisciplinary teams.
• Work closely with our Head of PMO and Production to plan and manage resources effectively
• Motivate and inspire multi-disciplinary project teams, providing guidance, support and direction to ensure successful project delivery
• Oversee and maintain project backlogs and delivery tracking using tools such as Azure DevOps
• Actively participate in retrospectives, identifying areas for improvement and implementing best practices to enhance project delivery processes.
• Mentor and support more junior Project Managers, contributing to capability development within PMO
